I’m making pot roast in my Instant Pot. Mushrooms, onions, onion soup mix, and half a bottle of red wine. I think it will turn out ok. ?
I freaking love mine. It really does a great job at so many things. I’ve made refried beans without even soaking the pintos and they turned out fantastic. Hard cooked eggs are so simple and they peel perfectly every time. Shredded chicken, pot roast...
I want one but andy says “don’t you have two regular crock pots? Is it a necessity?” ???
I want one, too. I think it would be handy for our every day stuff and can be used in additional to my crock pot for holidays and other gatherings.
So, I did decide to keep my crock pot. The instant Pot has a stainless insert and the heat only comes from the bottom. I like the ceramic liner of the crock pot and more even heat for slow cooking. That said, I haven’t tried slow cooking in my instant Pot yet.
Oh, speaking of holidays! Instant Pot rules for cooking potatoes. Mashed potatoes are so easy. Peel and chop into chunks, add a cup of chicken broth, cook, mash, add butter and a splash of cream, done!
They do sound good! I’m hoping to get one before Thanksgiving.
I’m cooking for at least 20 people for thanksgiving. I don’t know if I should get one for that.
