Just having the in-laws over for brunch as we do every year. They come when it's convenient for them (right after church) so they can get it out of the way and leave quickly. Every holiday is such a pain in the ass with them. At least we only have them over for one of them.

@webguyatwork sorry its a PITA. If it makes you feel any better my gold digging SIL has pissed my dad off to defcon 5. So at the dinner table he is going to ask my sister and I what we're doing in our lives -- then ask her if she is going to do anything with hers or just buy plastic unicorns and fuck my brother. LOL Good times!!

@Kandipie I dont think that is really lying. My inlaws used to do that "oops I forgot" thing - two of them it was classic behavior. Then they'd call the day of and ask where we were. Its been 12 years and we just dont do holidays with them. I am bringing the girls out to have ice cream today and my MIL is going to meet us there. She has seen Grace 4x in her life and has just started to realize she is missing out and wants a relationship with her son. That ship sailed. The best she's got is ice cream with me and the girls. Generally Erick and I dont do family drama, we keep our lives clean - take care of our kids and love our friends and family. It works well that way. Life is too short to be miserable. Just because people are "family" doesn't mean they are good for us. A hard lesson I learned but I am glad I did.
